Shutters, light and shadow

Tura takes its cues from 20th-century Barcelona architecture — the curves of Bonet’s La Ricarda, the stacked volumes of Coderch’s Casa Ugalde — and the detail it borrows hardest is the shutter. The vertical fluting across the drawer fronts is the whole idea: it catches light on one edge and throws shadow on the next, so the furniture changes through the day rather than sitting flat. It is the warmest of the Roca collections, three soft finishes with FSC® wood shelves and cork-lidded boxes, and the basins are asymmetric so you get usable shelf on one side without a wider unit.
