Kitchen refurbishment

Kitchen refurbishment, without the upheaval

Not every kitchen needs ripping out. New worktops, replacement doors, a new sink and tap, fresh tiling and appliances can transform the room you already have, in a few days rather than a few weeks.

What we can change

Our kitchen refurbishment services

Take one of these on its own, or several together. Everything is supplied and fitted by the same team, so there is nothing for you to arrange in between.

New worktops

Laminate, solid wood, quartz or ceramic, templated to your existing units and fitted properly.

Replacement kitchen doors

New doors and drawer fronts on the carcasses you already have, in a finish and colour you choose.

New sinks and taps

A new sink and tap plumbed in and sealed, including boiling-water and filtered options.

New appliances

Ovens, hobs, extractors, dishwashers and fridges, supplied, fitted and connected by our own team.

New wall tiles

Splashbacks and full walls, tiled by our own tilers from hundreds of ranges in the showroom.

New floor tiles

Hard-wearing porcelain and ceramic, laid over a base that has been prepared properly first.

A few features or the whole room

As small or as complete as you like

Whether you are updating a few key features or transforming the entire room, we can help you create a practical, attractive kitchen out of the one you already have.

Refurbish or replace

Why a refurbishment often wins

If the layout works and the units are sound, changing what you see costs a great deal less than starting again, and takes a fraction of the time.

Costs less than a new kitchen

You keep the carcasses, the layout and the services, and pay for the parts you actually see.

Days, not weeks

Most refurbishments are done inside a week, so you are not living without a kitchen for long.

Far less disruption

No stripping back to bare walls, no replastering, no skip sitting on the drive for a fortnight.

The same standard throughout

The same fitters, the same materials and the same guarantee as a full Homematas kitchen.

How it works

Three steps, one team

The same people who measure your kitchen are the ones who come back to fit it.

Measuring up an existing kitchen
1We take a look

What stays and what goes

We measure up, check the condition of your carcasses and tell you honestly which parts are worth keeping. If a refurbishment is the wrong answer for your kitchen, you will hear that too.

2You choose

Doors, worktops and tiles, side by side

Come into the Bamber Bridge showroom and see the door finishes against the worktops and tiles, at full size and in daylight, rather than guessing from a swatch.

3We fit it

Fitted, sealed and cleared up

Worktops templated and fitted, doors hung and adjusted, tiling and grouting finished, sink and appliances reconnected. Dust sheets down while we work and the room swept before we leave.

“We recently had a kitchen fit by Homematas, they had been recommended by family. We found the staff very helpful and professional. Joe and all the fitting staff were polite, punctual and tidy workers.”

“This is the second time I have used Homematas and they were brilliant as before. I required a new kitchen sink and fittings this time and from Brendon coming round to measure up and offer advice to having the sink fitted everything was perfect.”

FAQ

Refurbishment questions

Can you replace worktops without replacing the units?

Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do. We template the new worktops to your existing units, disconnect and refit the sink, tap and hob, and seal everything back up.

Can I just change the doors?

If your carcasses are sound and a standard size, new doors and drawer fronts change the look of the whole room for a fraction of the cost. We check the units before quoting rather than after.

How long does a kitchen refurbishment take?

Most take two to four days on site. Quartz and ceramic worktops add around a week between templating and fitting, but your kitchen stays usable in the meantime.

Do you supply the appliances?

We can, or we will fit appliances you have bought elsewhere. Anything needing electrics or plumbing is connected and certified by our own team.

Is it worth refurbishing rather than replacing?

If the layout works and the units are sound, usually yes. If the carcasses are failing or the layout fights you every day, a full kitchen is the better spend, and we will say so rather than sell you the cheaper job.
