A contemporary bathroom shaped around an awkward room
The shape of the room was the problem, so we made it the starting point.

The brief
This refurbishment needed plenty of storage, a spacious shower area and enough clear floor space to dry off in, all within a room whose shape was not straightforward.
What we did
- Used the shape of the room to our advantage rather than working around it
- Fitted a run of furniture with the basin semi-recessed into the units, alongside a close-coupled toilet
- Specified a shower valve made for narrow stud walls, which fits a cavity of just 60mm
- Tiled throughout in our own imported range of Spanish tiles
The result
A contemporary bathroom with generous storage, a proper shower area and floor space left over, in a room that did not obviously offer any of the three.
