Increasing storage in your kitchen

kitchen shaker style

In any kitchen, large or small, sensible storage solutions can have a practical impact on your kitchen. From storing all your crockery, pots and pans, and food and spices easily and effectively, to being able to keep your kitchen sides clear of clutter, kitchen storage is one of the most valuable practical aspects of any kitchen. But how can you increase the amount of storage in your kitchen? Well, here at Homematas, we are Preston’s leading kitchen design specialists, and we have something to suit any home, in any style. Including kitchen storage solutions that really work. As a result, we have produced these tips for increasing storage in your kitchen.

Top tips for increasing storage in your kitchen

Storage in your kitchen is incredibly important. And you can add more storage, without using up much in the way of additional space, with these tips:

  • Choose a pull out pantry- a narrow shelf rack that pulls out from the side of the cupboard or fridge, at the end of your worktops, can house your jars, spices, or tins of food, without taking up cupboard space. Typically these are less than 15cm wide and make use of space that would otherwise be wasted.
  • Use drawer or cupboard dividers- using special dividers or compartments for your cupboards or drawers can be very useful for storing larger items vertically, rather than horizontally. And this means that instead of stacking items on top of each other, you can actually fit more into the space.
  • Choose “magic” cupboards- so called “magic” cupboards have been used for the past couple of decades to help store more items in large corner cupboards. These cupboards open out with additional space inside and some even use a rack or shelf system within.
